We Were Very Clinical, Says Rodgers

Kelechi Iheanacho netted his first hat-trick for the Club, Ayoze Pérez also found the net and an Ethan Ampadu own goal concluded the scoring at King Power Stadium as the Foxes equaled their biggest-ever Premier League home win.
After witnessing his City side perform so admirably on Filbert Way, Leicester manager Rodgers was keen to emphasise the effort levels which were on show in the success, as well as his side's tactical intelligence.
"We worked very, very hard in the game," the Northern Irishman told LCFC TV at full-time. "You have to play with an intensity and we were able to do that. Organisationally, we defended well. We were aggressive. We got in contact with them and that’s always the foundation for any good performance.
"I don’t think we gave away too many shots, if any, on target. We played with a good speed, there was nice creativity and the movement was good in the team. We were very clinical when we had opportunities."
Leading by a solitary goal at the interval, the Foxes were challenged to be more expansive in their play in the second half, a tactical shift which ultimately enabled them to add another four goals to their tally against the Blades.
"I just thought there were opportunities there and we could take advantage of some of the spaces," Rodgers explained. "It was a game where you had to work hard, but you’re looking at where you can exploit the space. I just felt that we needed to be a little bit more patient with the ball.
"Still move it quickly, but move it a little bit more side to side to create the spaces that we could utilise and, in the second half, we were much better at that."
The former Liverpool and Celtic manager was also keen to address Iheanacho's individual performance for Leicester after the Nigeria international took his 2020/21 goals figure into double digits.
"He was outstanding, not just in his goals, but his overall work-rate," the 48-year-old added. "He had a big responsibility today, in terms of dropping into the space, finding that pocket that was just on the back of the midfield, and I thought he did that very, very well.
"He’s a great guy. He deserved the three goals. He had one or two other opportunities, but we’re all delighted for him."
Ricardo Pereira, on the other hand, was withdrawn at the break and Rodgers provided an update on the Portuguese: "He just felt tight in his hamstring so we’ll just see how that looks, but hopefully it won’t be too bad. It didn’t go, but he just felt it tightening, so we just need to be careful with it."
