Fuchs: We Move On
- The Foxes were beaten 2-1 at KCOM Stadium despite Riyad Mahrez scoring from the penalty spot
- Fuchs says City had the chances to have gone ahead early in the match
- Next up for the Foxes is a King Power Stadium clash with Arsenal on Saturday
Leicester City must put their opening day Premier League defeat behind them quickly, according to defender Christian Fuchs.
The Foxes fell to a 2-1 loss away at Hull City on Saturday afternoon and must regroup fast as a home clash with Arsenal beckons at King Power Stadium this weekend.
Riyad Mahrez equalised against Hull after an Adama Diomande opener, but Robert Snodgrass scored in the second half to give the newly-promoted side all three points on the day.
Fuchs knows the Foxes had their chances to go ahead early in the match put gave credit to the hard working hosts, who put injury problems behind them to secure an impressive win against the champions.
“Hull City played the way that a Premier League team plays,” said Fuchs. “They played with passion, enthusiasm, had a very solid shape and it was very hard to play through.
“Still I think first half we had a couple of good chances and if we’d have scored I think there would have been a different outcome. They gave everything though and scored twice. Both goals were a little bit unfortunate because they were deflected shots or had too much space.
“We move on, and the next game is Arsenal now. Everybody is disappointed after a game like that. Obviously you want to win your season opener but now we’re playing at King Power Stadium in front of our amazing fans and we’re looking forward to it.”
