Zieler Looking For Positive Response
- Claudio Ranieri’s men were beaten 2-1 at King Power Stadium by West Brom on Sunday
- It was City’s first home defeat in the Premier League for over a year
Ron-Robert Zieler wants his Leicester City team-mates to put Sunday’s defeat to West Bromwich Albion behind them and focus on coming back stronger after the international break.
The Foxes were defeated for the first time in 14 months at King Power Stadium in the Premier League, as their 20-game unbeaten home record came to an end against the Baggies.
Despite Islam Slimani cancelling out James Morrison’s header, Tony Pulis’ men went on to claim all three points following Matty Phillips’ instinctive finish.
“It was very disappointing, especially after we conceded and came back to equalise,” Zieler told LCFC TV after the game.
“I thought we weren’t going to lose, maybe at least draw or try to win the game. A defeat is very disappointing today.
“We did better in the second half. We didn’t do too well in the first half, so we improved in the second half.
“We conceded after individual mistakes, but these things can happen in football.”
A number of the Club’s stars now head away with their nations on international duty and Zieler believes his side certainly have the ability to bounce back with a positive result against Watford in their next outing.
He added: “There’s nothing else to do – we have to clear our minds. For me it’s a shame that we have the international break now because we want to make up for today as soon as possible.
“We have to charge up our batteries and focus again on our next couple of games and we certainly have the quality to do so.”
