Leicester City forward Andrej Kramarić has joined German side Hoffenheim on loan until the end of the 2015/16 season.

The 24-year-old Croatian international heads for the Bundesliga for the opportunity to get some first team football, having been limited to five appearances for the Foxes this term.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri said: “Andrej has the European Championships to think about this summer, so it’s important for him that he has the opportunity to play.

“He is a fantastic player and a great professional but, in this moment, we have other strikers that are playing well. I spoke with him to understand what he wants to do and a loan is a solution that works for everybody. We will watch him closely at Hoffenheim.”

The Bundesliga resumes this weekend following a six-week winter break, with Hoffenheim looking to pull away from the bottom of the table after accumulating 13 points from their first 17 games.

They host fifth-placed Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. Andrej joined Leicester City from Croatian side HNK Rijeka in January 2015, aiding the Foxes’ successful survival bid during the second half of the Premier League season.

He has made a 20 appearances for City in all competitions since, scoring four goals.
