Leicester City Complete Andrej Kramaric Signing
City manager Nigel Pearson said: “We’ve watched Andrej for a long time so we knew we were signing a player that could add great quality to English football and I’m delighted that the relevant authorities have seen the situation the same way.
“He’s an extremely talented young footballer and I’m delighted we’ve been able to finalise his signing. He is potentially a very important addition for us.”
Kramarić, 23, agreed personal terms and completed a medical with the Foxes last week, but was unable to train with his new teammates while his work permit application was being considered.
He was in attendance at King Power Stadium on Saturday to see City record a vital 1-0 Barclays Premier League victory over Aston Villa.
Capped four times by Croatia and rated among the most promising talents to emerge from his country in recent years, Kramarić has scored 28 goals in 31 games for Rijeka this season, including a Europa League hat-trick against Feyenoord and five goals in one game against Lokomotiva Zagreb.
Such form brought Kramarić to the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, but it was Leicester that moved first to secure his signature.
He becomes City’s second new arrival of the January transfer window, following the signing of goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer from Chelsea.
