Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has won the Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month Award for the third time this season after scooping April’s prize.

After recently securing the Foxes their first-ever top flight title, the City boss was given even more cause to celebrate on Wednesday morning, as his accomplishments over April were recognised by the Premier League.

Led by Ranieri, who also secured the award in November and March, Leicester’s form over April has been superb, with three victories and a draw helping them secure valuable points in their race for the title.

Kicking off the month with a 1-0 win over Southampton at King Power Stadium thanks to Wes Morgan’s header, Ranieri’s men went on to earn a 2-0 victory at Sunderland courtesy of Jamie Vardy’s double.

City’s mettle was tested against West Ham United, but a last-minute penalty from Leonardo Ulloa ensured 10-men Leicester would salvage a 2-2 draw, before destroying Swansea City 4-0 at King Power Stadium a week later.

Ranieri pipped Manchester City’s Manuel Pellegrini, Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to the award.
