Rodgers Delivers Pre-Palace Fitness Update
- Brendan Rodgers delivers his pre-Crystal Palace fitness update on Friday
- Leicester City host the Eagles at King Power Stadium on Saturday (3pm BST kick-off)
- James Maddison (hip) is the only doubt for the fixture against Roy Hodgson's men
- Ricardo Pereira continues to recover from an ACL injury sustained in March
The Foxes midfielder was a second-half substitute during the defeat by Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday and Rodgers says he aggravated a hip complaint on Merseyside.
Maddison, 23, had previously missed the Emirates FA Cup Quarter-Final against Chelsea on Filbert Way, but Rodgers remains hopeful that he could play a part against the Eagles.
Asked to outline anyone with a fitness issue ahead of Saturday's fixture, Rodgers told the media on Friday: "Probably only James Maddison is a doubt after the midweek game.
James Maddison
Maddison made a real impact for the Foxes at Goodison Park.
"He aggravated his hip again, so we’ll see what that looks like. We’ll just wait and see. He wasn't 100 per cent the other night when he came on, but he still changed the game totally.
"This is a player I have a great admiration for. He takes the game by the scruff of the neck and his contribution the other night was so important for us. It's just a shame if it keeps him out.
"Hopefully, if it does, it isn't for too long. Of course you can miss a player like that, but for us, it will always be about the collective and we'll continue to work as a whole squad."
The Northern Irishman was also asked if he will be forced to rotate his starting XI over the coming weeks in response to such a congested fixture schedule since the restart.
If we’re taking about honesty, spirit and character, this group will be absolutely okay. They’re first class to work with.

"We have to have our own robustness as well," he added. "There will be a core of players who play, but you may have to freshen it up. We’re getting back to playing with that expression again.
"The challenge us as a team is to come through. If we’re taking about honesty, spirit and character, this group will be absolutely okay. They’re first class to work with.
"I think in all the games since we’ve back, we could have won them. Obviously, the other night, we were undone by a poor decision."
