A Massive Moment For Us, Says Barnes
- Leicester City sealed Premier League win no.17 of 2019/20 over Crystal Palace on Saturday
- Kelechi Iheanacho opened the scoring before Jamie Vardy netted a brace for the Foxes
- Vardy's first was his 100th Premier League goal for the Club - assisted by Harvey Barnes
- Barnes says City can now use that 3-0 triumph to inspire them over the coming five games
Kelechi Iheanacho's opener and a brace of goals from Jamie Vardy - including his 100th Premier League strike - sealed City's first league success since English football's return.
Academy graduate Barnes, 22, admits the Foxes breathed a collective sigh of relief at the full-time whistle at King Power Stadium - but says now in the time for them to push on.
"It's a little sigh of relief, getting that first win out of the way," the talented winger told LCFC TV. "It's massive for us. Now, we've got five important games to come.
"This is just a stepping stone in the right direction. Hopefully, we can continue from this. Today showed how versatile the team is. We can adapt to different systems and continue the game plan.
Goals: Leicester City 3 Crystal Palace 0
All the goals as Jamie Vardy joined the Premier League 100 club in a dominant victory at King Power Stadium.
"Today, I came off the bench and made a positive impact, which I'm happy with, but I think today was just about getting three points and getting back on the right track."
Barnes believes Leicester had to show resolve to break Roy Hodgson's Eagles down on Filbert Way and were rewarded for their patience against an admirable defensive backline.
"Definitely," he concurred, when asked about City's patience in the game. "It's something we spoke about. We know that they're tough opponents and it wasn't going to be easy for us.
"They showed that in the first half. Even though we were playing some nice football, we couldn't quite break them down.
I think it'll be massive. I think getting that first win on the board was massive for us and then we'll take it from there.

"And then, in the second half, we showed that when we are on it and we're clinical in front of goal, we'll go on and put a few past them.
"I think it'll be massive. I think getting that first win on the board was massive for us and then we'll take it from there.
"At the minute, we've got to take each game as it comes and we can't think too far ahead, but it's definitely a positive way forward for us."
Just as he did for Vardy's 100th competitive goal for the Club in March 2019, Barnes provided the assist for the 33-year-old's 100th Premier League effort on Saturday and he was pleased to play his part.
Vardy: I'm Over The Moon
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy spoke to LCFC TV after scoring his 100th and 101st Premier League goals in a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.
"For him to come into the game as late he has and go on to get such an achievement is a credit to him and, obviously, for me, it's great to assist for the 100th," he added.
"You can see in there (the changing room), he's delighted with it. I don't think it was a matter of if, it was a matter of when it was going come.
"We know how many goals he can score, he's shown that this season. I think, tonight, he showed how important he is for us."
