Rodgers Thrilled With Goal Contributions
- Brendan Rodgers applauds Leicester City’s forward movements in the 4-2 Premier League victory over Burnley
- The Northern Irishman was encouraged by the phases of attacking play against the Clarets
- Harvey Barnes, James Justin and Dennis Praet all scored at King Power Stadium
Three different goalscorers – Harvey Barnes, James Justin and Dennis Praet – and an own goal from Erik Pieters saw City beat the Clarets 4-2 in the Premier League’s evening kick-off at King Power Stadium.
The balance of contributors in front of goal, and the way City carved out those opportunities, was praised by Rodgers at full-time following the success.
The Northern Irishman told LCFC TV: “[There were] different goalscorers, and that's what I've always said, we can't rely on just Jamie [Vardy] to always score. There has to be others contributing.
“Harvey [Barnes]: a great first finish. Tim [Castagne]: getting forward. If that's not an own goal, I think Jamie [Vardy] scores. Dennis [Praet] getting a great strike.

Enjoy the goals from Leicester City's 4-2 Premier League victory over Burnley at King Power Stadium on Sunday evening.
“The other full-back getting in there with JJ (James Justin), a good finish, so our intent is to attack the game and they did that tonight.”
When asked about City’s Belgian contingent, and how they’re able to combine, Rodgers exuded positivity in his answer.
He added: “They work very hard. I thought Youri Tielemans' pass for the goal was incredible. You know, he comes across his body and it's just a perfect weight.
“That relationship, obviously, with him and Tim, he knows it's going to arrive there, and he's on the move, so that was a very good goal.”
