- Leicester City to play Cambridge United in pre-season friendly
- The Foxes travel to Abbey Stadium on Tuesday 23 July (7:30pm BST kick-off)
- Foxes also set for trips to Scunthorpe, Stoke and Rotherham this pre-season
The Foxes are back in pre-season training early July, with the fixture against the League 2 side at Abbey Stadium the second of four confirmed opportunities for City fans to see their side in action as they prepare for the new 2019/20 Premier League season.
The last time the two sides met was in 1993 in a second-tier fixture, which finished 3-1 to the Foxes, who have only lost to Cambridge twice in 14 encounters.
The two sides were also in contention for promotion to the soon-to-be established Premier League in 1992. City beat The U’s 6-1 over two legs in the Division Two Play-Offs, but went on to lose to Blackburn Rovers in the final at Wembley.
The trip to Abbey Stadium on 23 July comes a week after the Foxes’ first pre-season game against Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park, and will be followed by away encounters at Stoke City and Rotherham United on Saturday 27 July.
Further details on Leicester City’s 2019/20 pre-season schedule will be confirmed in due course.
