Tielemans Stars In Comfortable Belgium Win

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans helped Belgium beat Scotland 4-0 in UEFA 2020 European Championship qualifying on Monday evening in Glasgow.

On his 25th senior international cap, Tielemans played 86 minutes for the Red Devils in a dominant victory at Hampden Park.

Goals from Romelu Lukaku, Thomas Vermaelen, Toby Alderweireld and Kevin De Bruyne ensured Belgium, for whom Dennis Praet was an unused substitute for, continued their unbeaten start to EURO 2020 qualifying and remain top of Group I.

Elsewhere on the international stage, goalkeeper Danny Ward kept a clean sheet for Wales in their 1-0 friendly victory over Belarus at Cardiff City Stadium. Manchester United winger Daniel James' impressive finish secured Ryan Giggs' team a fourth successive home win.

At Windsor Park, defender Jonny Evans played 90 minutes in Northern Ireland's 2-0 defeat by Germany. Michael O'Neill's side now sit second in in Group C.

Danny Ward played 90 minutes in Wales' 1-0 friendly win over Belarus at Cardiff City Stadium.

James Justin made his first appearance for England's Under-21s as the Young Lions defeated Kosovo 2-0. The full-back replaced Max Aarons in the 80th minute of their U21 EURO 2021 qualifying triumph, with Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden scoring twice in Hull. 

Islam Slimani, currently at AS Monaco on loan, scored the only goal in Algeria's 1-0 friendly success over Benin. Young defender Vontae Daley-Campbell, meanwhile, played the full match in England Under-19s' narrow 1-0 defeat by Germany in Haiger.

On Tuesday, England's seniors take on Kosovo and James Maddison could make his debut for the Three Lions. Ben Chilwell is also in Gareth Southgate's squad, while Çağlar Söyüncü's Turkey visit Moldova.
