Leicester City Development Squad’s Vontae Daley-Campbell was part of the England U19s side that kicked off their Marbella International Cup campaign with a defeat to France.

Daley-Campbell, 18, played the full 90 minutes as the Young Lions were beaten 3-1 in Spain on Wednesday.

The right-back, who joined the Club in the summer having previously played for Arsenal, made his second appearance for the England U19s after making his debut against Germany in September.

He has also previously represented his nation at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 levels.

In a closely-fought tournament opener, James Garner’s penalty levelled for England in the second half before two late France goals consigned Paul Simpson’s Young Lions to defeat.

Foxes left-back Luke Thomas, meanwhile, was on the bench for England U19s, but did not feature.

Next up for England in the Marbella International Cup is Belgium, who they face on Saturday 12 October.
