City maintained their status as the Premier League’s most in-form side thanks to Vardy’s double and goals from Kelechi Iheanacho and Jonny Evans.

Their performance in Birmingham yielded another three points, and Vardy believes Leicester’s preparation ahead of the match proved to be vital.

“It was a really good performance,” Vardy said. “We changed tactics and went into a diamond for the first time.

“I think you can see from the work that we’ve done on the training field we’ve taken it straight into the game and dominated.

“We’re just taking each game as it comes, as we have done all season, so we’ll just keep going into each game picking up as many points as we can.

“Obviously, we’ll then see where we finish at the end of the season. Then, that will give us something to progress on.”

With regards to the performance from the boys, everyone put 100 per cent in and we’ve come out as deserved winners.

Vardy had now scored 16 goals in as many Premier League games in 2019/20, but says he was more concerned about the overall result, rather than finding the back of the net.

“I’m obviously over the moon,” said the No.9 of his goalscoring record this term. “But first and foremost, the points are for Leicester.
