- Leicester City head to Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday (5:30pm kick-off)
- The Foxes are currently one place above their hosts in second place in the top flight
- Last season, Man City sealed a dramatic 1-0 win over Leicester at Etihad Stadium
- Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is excited by the challenge of facing Pep Guardiola's men
Third-place Man City host Leicester, currently second, in the Premier League on Saturday as Brendan Rodgers' visitors look to extend their unbeaten run to 12 matches in all competitions.
Last season, Pep Guardiola's men won a tightly-contested, dramatic affair in Manchester courtesy of a late stunner from Belgian defender Vincent Kompany, who is now player-manager at Anderlecht.
Schmeichel, whose Premier League career began at Man City, believes all games carry the same significance at this stage of the season, but the Dane admitted he is excited by Saturday's challenge.
"It’s going to be a good game," he said this week. "We came very close last year to getting a decent result. They don’t have Vincent Kompany any more to score wonder goals!
"So, let’s hope we have a different outcome this year. [Last year's game was] frustrating at the end, because I thought we played a good game.
"Our game plan worked until Vinny stepped up and sometimes you’ve just got to take your hat off and admire the finish.
"Every single game now is important. Making sure that we’re in the mix, all the way through, putting pressure on the teams around us, that’s so important.
"Obviously, we’ve got two games coming up against two of our closest rivals, which we need to win."
Schmeichel, 33, also reserved praise for his opposite number on Saturday, Brazilian shot-stopper Ederson, who has made a huge impression in the Premier League since 2017.
"He’s amazing, he’s an unbelievable goalkeeper," he continued. "Probably the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, for me. He’s changed the game of goalkeeping.
"Quite a few years ago, Manuel Neuer came along and changed goalkeeping forever and Ederson has taken it to a new level. He can play in a position on the pitch if he wanted to.
"He’s someone I admire greatly. I think, like I said, [he’s] probably the best in the league."
