- Leicester City sealed a 2-0 win over Sheffield United at King Power Stadium on Thursday evening
- The Foxes are now guaranteed European football in the 2020/21 season
- Goalscorer Ayoze Pérez expressed his joy at achieving a pre-season personal ambition
- The Spaniard also praised youngster Luke Thomas, who assisted the opener on his debut
Pérez's opener - the Spaniard's eighth of the season - was added to later on by Demarai Gray as the Foxes booked their 18th top-flight victory of a memorable 2019/20 season.
City are now guaranteed to finish in their second-highest placing in the Premier League era - bettered only by the Club's 2016 title triumph - and the 26-year-old was thrilled with the win.
"It's a perfect night for us," Pérez told LCFC TV. "It was an important game for us. A massive game, but the most important [thing] was we needed a reaction after the last game.
"We bounced back really, really well and this is where we are, so it was a great performance and I'm also happy to be able to help the team by scoring."
Debutant Luke Thomas, another product of the Club's Academy to rise to City's first team, laid on the assist for Pérez's 29th-minute strike.
The former Newcastle United forward's powerful finish concluded a stylish passage of play from Leicester - and the Foxes No.17 was keen to praise his 19-year-old team-mate.
"So, we were building up a little bit from the right side," he reflected. "We were able to switch it to the left-hand side and then he saw me.
"He saw me very well [with] the cut-back and then I tried the one through the legs and it went in, so it's a good goal. [I'm] happy. Happy for his debut, he's done brilliant.
"[It was an] unbelievable performance. [I'm] happy for him and the result. We got the three points today. We knew it was very important."
With European football now confirmed, Pérez says he has realised a personal dream and admitted the chance do just that was a reason behind his move to Leicester last summer.
"Well, it feels amazing," he added. "That was my goal when I signed for Leicester. Being in this position is special. We're going for more, but yes, it feels great.
"That means we've done a great job and it's something to enjoy. I've never played in Europe, so it's going to be a special season, the next one.
"But as I said, we're still going for more. Two games left: everything to be decided. We will fight for sure.
"Everything is still in our hands. We've got two games, tough games, against good teams, but we are in the position we are for some reasons.
"It's about us. With a performance like tonight, we need to replicate it in the next couple of games and fight for the points. We've still got a big chance, a big opportunity and let's dream."
