As an invited club, the Foxes are set to compete in one of the competition’s eight northern groups and will be ball no.3 for the draw.
City’s Development Squad finished second in the curtailed Premier League 2 Division 1 programme in 2019/20, and also reached the quarter-finals of the EFL Trophy, eventually losing out to Newport County.
During last season’s EFL Trophy campaign, the Club beat Grimsby Town, Sunderland, Doncaster Rovers and Tranmere Rovers to reach the last eight.
The first round of group stage matches for the 2020/21 competition are due to take place in September.
