- Brendan Rodgers says Leicester City delivered an organised display during the second half against West Bromwich Albion
- The Foxes scored three goals after the interval to secure a 3-0 success over the Baggies
- Timothy Castagne opened the scoring prior to two Jamie Vardy penalties on Sunday
Despite two good opportunities for Harvey Barnes, City were unable to break the deadlock in the first half at the Hawthorns, but their pressure told when a cross from Dennis Praet was met by the head of Timothy Castagne.
The combination between the two Belgium internationals was swiftly followed by two Jamie Vardy spot-kicks, as the Foxes registered a much-deserved 3-0 victory in their maiden 2020/21 outing.
Rodgers told LCFC TV at full-time: “They were obviously playing five at the back, which always makes it difficult to break through.
“And then, when if you don't have the runs penetrating and the speed of the pass, then of course, it's difficult to create, but once we organised that at half-time, I felt we were much better in our running off the ball, our rotation.
“Our mobility was much better and then we started to attack more. So yes, much better second half.”
Scoring three goals after the break, Rodgers underlined the improved tempo that City operated at against the newly-promoted Baggies.
“I think that in the first half at times we didn't deal overly well with the diagonal ball, so we needed to press that better and we did that in the second half,” he said.
“Of course, when they go to a four, it gives us more possibilities, there's more space. But just our penetration was better.
“The speed of our game was better. We're a team that when we attack well, we defend well. So, that was a key for us - playing with a better tempo and a quicker game.”
