Ireland’s first loss in Group I came in the form of a 3-0 defeat, following goals from Marina Hegering, Dzsenifer Marozsán and Lea Schüller in the first half.
Following Littlejohn’s 37th senior international appearance, Ireland now sit second in their group with 13 points from six outings.
In Group I, they have previously beaten Montenegro twice, as well as recording a draw and a victory against Greece prior to their loss to the two-time world champions.
The reverse to Germany, who are still unbeaten, was their first in the group stage.
