- Leicester City lost 2-0 to Arsenal in the third round of the Carabao Cup at King Power Stadium on Wednesday
- LCFC Radio provided over four hours of coverage from Filbert Way
- Panelists Gerry Taggart, Steve Walsh and Iwan Roberts gave their opinions at full-time
- The ex-City stars believe Leicester were unfortunate in defeat after making 11 changes to the starting XI
Speaking for half an hour after full-time at King Power Stadium, Walsh, Taggart and Roberts picked out key moments for discussion as the Foxes exited the competition at the third round stage.
Despite the disappointment of defeat, the former City trio found reasons for optimism in the performance as side including 11 changes performed admirably against the Gunners.
A lot of positives
Steve Walsh said: "I enjoyed the game, I really did. I think Arsenal had another gear in that second half. For 25 minutes of that second half, Leicester found it hard. Arsenal were recycling the ball and were fast down the flanks. You'd expect that with the players they had on the pitch. Leicester can take a lot of positives from the game and they gave a good Arsenal side a run for their money."
Pérez's key opportunity
Gerry Taggart said: "Leicester made a bright start to the second half and had a couple of shooting opportunities, but they didn't hit the target. After that, Arsenal came into the game more and more. The main opportunity later on was Ayoze Pérez, from point-blank range, but Arsenal were good for large parts."
Accuracy in front of goal
Iwan Roberts said: "The starting XI tonight won't have played together often. It's hard to be over-critical. There was no lack of effort. No lack of work ethic. They just got, at times, caught out with passes, or giving the ball away. But they had the chances... Pérez, [James] Maddison's chance in the first half. I would've liked to see Leicester work Bernd Leno more, but they were up against a good side."
An exciting game
Steve Walsh said: "Everybody who saw the game will agree [that Leicester played well]. Brendan [Rodgers] will always put a team out that he believes can do a job. It was an exciting game and Leicester created chances. On another day, we might have had better luck. The lads gave everything and Brendan will know that. There were some good individual performances."
Albrighton impresses
Gerry Taggart said: "I think [Marc] Albrighton had a great game. He stuck to his task manfully when Arsenal were bombing down the flank and he was one of the most productive players. He played two or three lovely balls in, you've got to say, in that first half, and Leno did well to stop [Kelechi] Iheanacho for that one in the first half."
Dewsbury-Hall's admirable home debut
Iwan Roberts said: "Let's not forget young Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, playing against a top team. I think he won the personal battles with Joe Willock, an England Under-21s international, so credit to him."
