The Foxes sealed a third consecutive Premier League victory, winning 5-2 at Manchester City last Sunday, while the Hammers defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0 later in the evening.

Mendy, 28, has started all three of City's fixtures in the top flight so far this season and has attracted praise from many for the composed and commanding nature of his performances.

With Sunday's clash on Filbert Way offering both sides with an opportunity to sign off ahead of the international break with three points, the Frenchman believes Leicester are in a confident frame of mind.

"The mood is very good," Mendy told LCFC TV earlier this week. "Everyone is smiling. We want to work more and perform every weekend. We have to think about the next game now.

"It’s coming quickly and we’ll be playing against a good team whose confidence is high because they won their last game. We have to be ready for that."

Jamie Vardy netted a hat-trick, before goals for James Maddison and Youri Tielemans, as the Foxes sealed an impressive success over Man City at Etihad Stadium last weekend.

Mendy believes the tactical adaptability on show from the visitors in Manchester bodes well for Brendan Rodgers' men ahead of a busy campaign.

"This is very good for the confidence because we beat a big team, with some good players, 5-2," he continued. "It’s very good for us.

"We played very good and we showed how we can adapt our play when we play against different teams and that’s good for the future."

On a personal note, Mendy is also enjoying his football at present after signing a new deal at the Club in the summer and being ever-present so far this term.

"I started three times and we won three times, so it’s very good for my confidence," he added. "I enjoyed it a lot because when I am on the pitch, I want to give my best and enjoy it to the maximum."
