Papy Mendy says securing as many points at King Power Stadium is naturally a central pillar of Leicester City's ambitions in 2020/21.

The Foxes head into Sunday's home clash with West Ham United with a 100 per cent record in the Premier League following victories over West Bromwich Albion, Burnley and Manchester City.

Mendy has been ever-present for City over all three matches and has earned several plaudits for the manner of his performances for Brendan Rodgers' men.

His partnership with Belgium international Youri Tielemans in the centre of midfield has particularly impressed onlookers and Mendy says he is enjoying that partnership.

"It’s easy to play with him because he’s a very good, international player," he told LCFC TV.

"This is good for our squad because we have a lot of options with me, Wilf (Wilfred Ndidi), Youri, Hamza [Choudhury], Dennis [Praet] and Ki (Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall).

"We work hard to perform in the games and that’s good for us."

However, Mendy is well aware that the Hammers are likely to arrive in Leicester with confidence following a 4-0 triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers at London Stadium last time out in the Premier League.

"They will have confidence, but every game is different," Mendy added. "Every game is tough in this league and, if you want to get a result, you have to give more than them and this is the same every game.

"We know they are confident and we are ready for that."

The Frenchman also discussed the importance of collecting a high volume of points at King Power Stadium, despite not being able to play in front of the Blue Army due to COVID-19 regulations.

"We will play at home and we have to try to get maximum points at home," he continued. "Of course, we want to play in front of our fans, we miss them a lot, but we had to play with that.

"There is a lot of desire to get the three points, to put in a good performance and this is our objective now."
