- Leicester are currently on a three-game winning streak, which includes wins over Blackburn and Lewes
- City lie second in the FA Women's Championship standings after eight games

Following victories over Blackburn Rovers and Lewes, Coventry United were put to the sword by City on Sunday, who triumphed 9-1 in the FA Women's Championship encounter at Butts Park Arena.

The Republic of Ireland international, who opened her tally for the season in that record-breaking victory, felt it was only a matter of time before the Foxes notched up a big scoreline to match their high performance level.

"We've been saying for a while that one of these games we're going to get a few goals," Littlejohn told LCFC.com

"It happened to be Sunday so it just shows everything that we're working on is starting to come together. But I think it was probably even more pleasing that the goals were spread throughout the team.

"I know a couple of the girls got two each, but it was nice to get so many different players on the scoresheet, so for the team that's really positive.

"Remi [Allen] won the penalty and then gave it to me so that was nice of her and it was nice to tuck it away, I'm quite pleased with that."

Following the postponement of City's midweek Continental Tyres League Cup tie with Birmingham City, Leicester may have to wait until Sunday 6 December to play another competitive fixture, when they return to league action against London Bees at Farley Way Stadium (2pm kick-off GMT).

The Republic of Ireland international will come up against former club, London Bees in the Foxes' next fixture.

"Everyone's in the same boat," the 30-year-old continued. "Teams don't have games, but we'll have a few days off now.

"There's an international break so some girls are away and then we'll come back, get straight back into training and hopefully we can just start back where we finished.

"And London Bees will be a tough game. I know they won on Sunday, so they'll be feeling confident and every game is a tough game.

You're obviously disappointed when you drop points, but I think when you look at the bigger picture, we are a new squad, there's so many new players in, so it is actually quite positive.

"But now we'll be looking to have no more slip ups. We've had a bump in the road already so let's learn from that and hopefully push on now."

Reflecting more generally on the season as a whole so far, Littlejohn highlighted the mixture of youth and experience as a key part of the early successes, which see the Foxes sit second in the table.

As one of those more experienced players who has already experienced full-time football, she has been able to pass on advice to some of the players entering their first season within a professional environment.

"You're obviously disappointed when you drop points, but I think when you look at the bigger picture, we are a new squad, there's so many new players in, so it is actually quite positive," Littlejohn added.

"We're obviously full-time so that's massive. There's plenty of time to work together and see what's best. I think this season there's so many new people in for the management to have a look at to see what's best and pick the best players.

"But it's good to see the team right now, there's a lot of competition for places, which is good to have and everyone's starting to gel nicely.

"Some of the girls are quite keen to learn and some will ask more questions than others. There's a lot of experience within the team too, obviously myself, Sophie Howard, Remi Allen, Sophie Barker. We've all played football for a long time so we're happy to pass on any knowledge that we have.

"I think some of the young girls think we're going on at them at times, but that's fine, they're all good girls and everyone's happy. There's a good morale in the squad and it's nice to have."
