The young left-back’s ninth appearance in all competitions this term saw him play from start to finish as City secured top spot in Group G prior to Monday’s Round of 32 draw.
Thomas, 19, has delivered some impressive displays for the Foxes in 2020/21, and was thrilled to a star in a win that came courtesy of strikes from Cengiz Ünder and Harvey Barnes.
Thomas told LCFC TV: “Well, the objective of the game was to obviously get the three points and top the group. I felt, in the first 25 minutes, we've gone out and showed a great attitude.
“Scoring two goals early, it's always a good way to start the game. It's obviously helped us get the three points in the 90 minutes.
“I feel like as a group, I didn't feel anyone was very nervous going into it, but obviously it's a very big game for us to go into.
“The gaffer put us under a bit of pressure before by saying we've got to win; it's a must win game. To come out with three points, it was a solid performance.”
Thomas says he has thoroughly enjoyed his involvement this campaign, and has learnt a great deal from operating alongside some of the most experienced defenders in the Premier League.
“As a defender, it's always good to get a clean sheet and obviously then moving forward, and getting the goals that we got, and playing as well as we played, it's always a positive,” he added.
“It's a great experience. Playing next to players like Jonny [Evans] and Wes [Morgan], when he comes on towards the end, they've got great experience throughout their careers and they are great communicators to me as a young player.”
