In the days leading up to the Filbert Way encounter, a 7:15pm kick-off, key figures from both camps have been discussing the game with the national media.
While Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter hosted pre-match press conferences, Youri Tielemans and Pascal Groß both spoke to their own clubs' in-house media channels...
Brendan Rodgers outlines his respect for Brighton: “They're a team I'm really, really impressed with. I think Graham [Potter] and his staff there have done a fantastic job. Chris [Hughton], equally, did a really good job when he was there. Graham came in and then he brought his own philosophy and identity to the team. They're a fantastic club. I know they've put a great infrastructure in place and you can see how the team play. You can see the confidence the team plays with. They play different styles as well, they can change their shape within games, and even though they've lost games, they've been very close.”
Seagulls manager Graham Potter on his admiration for the Foxes: “We shouldn’t forget that they were Premier League champions not so long ago, which was an amazing story. They have built an incredible legacy and they made a really good head coach appointment in Brendan Rodgers. He brings experience and knowhow. They have got a really talented group of players and they have done well with recruitment. They sell players at the right time for the right price and they bring the right players in to replace them so everything is moving in the right direction.”
Belgium international Youri Tielemans discusses the fixture schedule and his perceptions of Brighton: “As a football player, you want to play a lot of games, but it's really all about recovery in between the games. You just have to be ready for the games and then it's up to the manager to pick the team that he feels is the freshest for the game. On the pitch, you just do your thing, and do your job. Brighton have been a team who try to build up their game and play football. They play really good football, so it will be up to us to counter that and to match that and be aggressive. We will try to win the game, obviously, but also play good football as well.”
Pascal Groß, speaking to brightonandhovealbion.com, on getting back into Brighton's team and previewing Leicester: “I've not changed a lot to get into the team. I just do what the manager asks of me, I try my best and try to be myself. I always do, but we have a lot of players so it’s not easy for the manager to make those [selection] decisions. I think Leicester are a really good team with excellent players and they are always tough to play against. But we always create chances, we are a good team. We should believe we can win every game.”
