- Leicester City host Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Sunday (7:15pm GMT kick-off)
- Youri Tielemans spoke to LCFC TV about the brand of football Graham Potter is implementing at the Seagulls
- The Belgium star previewed the fixture, and also discussed the importance of player recovery over the next few weeks
City’s 12th Premier League match of 2020/21 sees them entertain a Brighton side who sit in 16th position ahead of their visit to Filbert Way.
The Foxes were held to a goalless draw in the same fixture last term, and Tielemans knows just how difficult the Seagulls can be to face.
“When I look back to last season, Brighton have been a team who really try and build up the game, play football, play really good football,” Tielemans told LCFC TV.
“So, it will be up to us to counter that and to match that and be aggressive and try to win the game, obviously, but try to play good football as well.
“Of course, we know that every game in the Premier League is a very tough game, but Brighton, they really try and play really good football on the ground, playing combinations from the side and through the middle to create chances.
“We’ll have to defend well and try and attack.”
With European football complementing their domestic campaign, City have shown they are able to adapt to a busy fixture schedule.
For Tielemans, though, he sees the frequency of matches as a positive, and believes recovery during this period is crucial.
“As a football player, you want to play a lot of games, but it’s really all about recovery between the games, so you just have to be ready for the games,” Tielemans added.
“Then, it’s up to the manager as well to pick the team that he feels is the freshest for the game. On the pitch, you just do your thing and do your job.”
