City ran out 4-0 winners in Staffordshire thanks to a stunning strike from James Justin, which was followed up by second half goals from Marc Albrighton, Ayoze Pérez and Harvey Barnes.
Steve Walsh, Matt Elliott and Gerry Taggart all analysed Leicester's performance in the company of presenter Dan Bates, with the LCFC TV Matchday Live panel praising the team's professional display.
The Foxes' potential to go far in the competition was also a key talking point during the 30-minute post-match discussion.
Building momentum
Steve Walsh said: "It was a great second half to the game and you felt we were going to open Stoke up, they didn't really offer too much. It was a comfortable win which keeps the momentum going and that terrific record away from home looks good. It just goes on to the momentum of where we are, we know where we're at and bring on the next game, that's what they want, these lads, now. It's great going into the next game, that's what it's about this game and who knows where we'll go in the FA Cup. A great performance, Brendan [Rodgers] will be really pleased with that, they've eased through and happy days."
The perfect afternoon
Gerry Taggart said: "Everything just fell into place today didn't it in the end? It was an easy win, the centre halves just cruised it, so he (Brendan Rodgers) will be absolutely delighted with that because they haven't expended too much energy in that game. The forward players will have loved every second of that second half, because they found gap after gap."
An accomplished display
Matt Elliott said: "I thought their performance was patient, there was no panic about their play, there was an assurance and self belief. It took them 20 minutes to get into any sort of rhythm, but they weren't flustered by that. They scored at a real opportune time, I think, and you felt it was only going to come from one team. You see that with the confidence and in the way they were knocking the ball around. I wouldn't say they were playing at their own pace, but they were dictating the tempo and then when they needed to up it a level or two, they had that capability. There's no mad frenzy about their play that we're desperate to score, they'll do that to a degree, but if it doesn't come off they are fine, they just go about their game and try and hurt the opposition in another way. They've got flexibility and adaptability in the team and they just look a really smooth outfit at the moment."
Praise for the goalscorers
Steve Walsh said: "I thought Albrighton had a great game and he's a great professional, you know what you'll get with him every time he goes on that pitch, he gives everything and he deserved that goal. You could see the relief on his face, he's not scored for a little while, so that was pleasing. I'm glad he scored. Pérez took his goal really well, I thought that was a really cool finish and some terrific moves in that second half. They never really got out of third gear, they made it look simple and took full control of the game. As expected, we've gone through, but they've done it in clinical fashion and that's what you want in this moment."
Taking the cup seriously
Gerry Taggart said: "When you come into the FA Cup and you're involved with the top tier of the Premier League and you're in the knockout stages of a major European competition, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the players who didn't start today were maybe thinking: 'Maybe I should be getting a game today against Stoke'. We've got a lot of big fish to fry this coming year until the end of the season. Brendan Rodgers was having absolutely none of that and that tells me he wants to go far in this competition. That performance is another statement from the team that they are taking this seriously and every player that is going to be involved between now and the end of the season, has to buckle themselves in, bed themselves down, because we're going hell for leather in all three competitions."
Competing on multiple fronts
Matt Elliott said: "There's a lot of work to be done, there will be a lot of bumps along the way, it's going to be a rocky ride, you'd imagine, but the capability is there. You're not going to turn down the opportunity to fight the cause. To look at winning two cups is a hell of a big ask but any sort of trophy would be gleefully accepted by everyone involved in and around the Club, none more so than supporters. It's all a bit premature to be speaking about any trophies, just carry on doing as they are doing."
