- James Maddison speaks ahead of Leicester City's Premier League clash with Liverpool
- The Reds visit King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon (12:30pm GMT kick-off)
- Maddison says the Foxes are eager to 'put in a good account' of themselves
- The England midfielder also discusses his excellent form for Leicester in 2020/21
Leicester have been in sterling form throughout 2020/21, leaving them third in the table, and Maddison, who spoke to LCFC TV in Seagrave earlier this week, says they are prepared for the challenge.
"It’s a nice easy one at the weekend!" City's No.10 said in jest, alluding to Liverpool's impressive record over previous seasons. "I’ve heard people say it’s probably a good time to play Liverpool.
"They’ve got a fantastic team still. I know they were beaten by Man City 4-1, but they’ve still got a top team and they’ve still got a fit squad, apart from the centre-halves. They’ve got a full attacking line, midfielders and the ‘keeper.
"We’ll be trying to put right the result we had against them at King Power Stadium last year. That was a tough one to take.
"It really showed a difference in class and they went on to become champions. We’ve come a long way since then and hopefully we can put in a good account of ourselves."
Aside from Wednesday's Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round victory over Brighton & Hove Albion, the Foxes' last top-flight outing was the goalless stalemate with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux Stadium.
While naturally frustrated not to add another win to City's healthy 2020/21 tally, Maddison believes Wolves' strategy last weekend was further evidence of the respect Leicester hold among their divisional rivals.
"It was a tough game, it always is at Wolves," the 24-year-old continued. "Obviously, they’ve been trying to play four at the back recently, so it was a compliment to us – and the gaffer touched on it as well – that they changed back to five at the back, mostly because of our threat going forward.
"We found it tough to break down. We started the game really well and I think we finished the game really well, but we found it tough. I think a draw was a fair result.
"We had chances and they had chances. It was one of those hard-fought Premier League games where no team could find the breakthrough, so we take the point and move on."
In the Premier League this term, Maddison - recently nominated for EA Sports' Premier League Player of the Month award in January - has netted six goals and laid on another five for his team-mates.
While keen to boost those numbers further, the England midfielder was keen outline the importance of everyone thriving within Leicester's squad if the Club is to achieve its objectives.
"It’s going well," the former Norwich City midfielder explained. "I’m in good form. For me, it’s just about trying to show that consistency and keep improving and just being beneficial to the team. I’ve done about five interviews today and all the questions were about me and my numbers, but ultimately, if I think about it, it’s all about the team.
"I’m not saying that to be cliché, I’m saying that because that’s what it comes back to, it’s a team game, and at the end of the season, the table reflects on me where Leicester City are.
"I’ll keep trying to score goals and get assists for the team and hopefully we can stay at the right end because we love getting results which keep us at the top end of the Premier League."
