- Brendan Rodgers isolates Leicester City's resilience after a 3-1 victory over Liverpool on Saturday
- The Foxes came from behind at King Power Stadium to secure their 14th Premier League win of 2020/21
- James Maddison, Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes struck inside seven helter-skelter minutes late on
- Rodgers was delighted with the application of City, who improved dramatically after falling behind
While the Reds dominated at times during the opening 45 minutes, City continued to create chances, but they nonetheless fell behind to Mo Salah's composed finish on 67 minutes at King Power Stadium.
However, a combination of VAR interventions, defensive mix-ups and supreme attacking football from the Foxes saw Rodgers' men mount a stirring fightback late on.
It came about as James Maddison's free-kick was followed by Jamie Vardy's 14th goal in all competitions this season, before Harvey Barnes completed the scoring on a memorable afternoon for Leicester - all inside seven dramatic second-half minutes - on Filbert Way.
"It was a terrific game," Rodgers reflected, speaking to LCFC TV at full-time. "We obviously had to withstand pressure early on. We were a little bit passive in the game, I thought.
"We didn’t defend strongly enough, but we still had chances. We still showed the quality that we can play when we broke through their pressure.
"We reinforced that at half-time, that we needed to attack the game more. From a defensive perspective, we didn’t have that aggression because if you stand off Liverpool, they’re the Premier League champions, and they will really hurt you.
"We had a great reaction to going behind. That, a year ago, might have disappointed us, but we kept going. We got the equaliser and then we changed the shape of the team to try and win the game and we came out on the other side of a fantastic performance and win."
Rodgers now hopes City's 14th Premier League win of the season - which elevates them to second in the table - can breed confidence among the group as they prepare for another busy and important juncture in their campaign.
Next up, the Foxes travel to Czech Republic to contest a UEFA Europa League Round of 32 first leg tie against Slavia Prague on Thursday (5:55pm GMT kick-off).
"When you beat a team of that quality, of course it continues that confidence that you have," the Northern Irishman continued. "I think we’ve shown that this year in big games.
"Like I say, we’ve come in and played with composure and a calmness and showed great quality for the goals, so it’s another step for us. I’m delighted for the players, for how hard they worked and we got our rewards out of the game."
