Leicester City’s Under-18s advanced to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup with a 2-1 extra-time victory over Exeter City at St James Park on Tuesday night.

- The young Foxes beat Exeter City 2-1 after extra-time on Tuesday at St James Park
- Wanya Marcal-Madivadua and Kian Pennant struck for the visitors after a goalless 90 minutes
- City have beaten Sheffield Wednesday and Exeter City en route to the fifth round

Having defeated Sheffield Wednesday 5-0 at LCFC Training Ground in the third round, the young Foxes headed to the home of the Grecians for a fourth round tie.

During a goalless opening 45 minutes, Leicester stopper Kelechi Chibueze was on hand to hold Toby Neville’s header, while Tawanda Maswanhise fired over for the visitors.

Shortly after the interval, Chibueze saved from Sonny Cox and Alex Moyes, before Terell Pennant had a strike deflect wide via a block from Alfie Pond.

Kian Pennant, Cox, Sammy Braybrooke, Pond and Zeph Collins were then all off target with their attempts, while Wanya Marcal-Madivadua had a chance to win it for City late on, but drove his effort over the bar.

Both sides were unable to break the deadlock after 90 minutes, but in the eighth minute of extra-time, City were ahead through Marcal-Madivadua’s close-range header.

However, Exeter City rallied and were level within five minutes through Michael Lilley’s well-taken effort from inside the Leicester area.

At 1-1 in extra-time, the tie appeared to be heading to penalties, but on 108 minutes, Kian Pennant nodded in the winner to send his side into the fifth round.
