- Leicester City suffered a 3-2 defeat by West Ham United at London Stadium on Sunday
- Kelechi Iheanacho's brace came following a duo of goals for Jesse Lingard and one for Jarrod Bowen
- Ricardo Pereira outlined why the Foxes must use that disappointment as motivation at full-time
- The Portugal international also pointed to City's attacking play in the latter moments in London
A brace from Jesse Lingard and a single effort by Jarrod Bowen saw the Hammers race into a three-goal lead at London Stadium, before Kelechi Iheanacho's second-half duo of goals dented the east London side's advantage.
However, despite an improved showing in the latter stages in the capital, the Foxes weren't able to salvage anything from the clash with David Moyes' in-form outfit on Sunday.
Reflecting on just City's second Premier League away loss of the 2020/21 campaign so far, Portugal full-back Ricardo pointed to the difficulty of taking anything from a game during which Leicester were two goals adrift at the interval.
"When you go to half-time losing 2-0, it's difficult to come back with that score," he told LCFC TV. "It's our fault, especially in the first half, and we have to do better. We talked at half-time, the next goal would be huge. If we scored first, we'd go 2-1 and for them it's a little bit difficult when you go after half-time.
"Unfortunately, they scored first and that made everything harder for us."
Ricardo was frustrated by the result in London, especially considering that City did display an attacking threat towards the end, but the former FC Porto man called on his team-mates to use the defeat as a stimulus for better results in the week to come.
"Disappointment, most of all," he said, when asked to describe the overriding emotion in the dressing room at full-time.
"We showed that we could play well. We showed in the second half, but at the same time, it's our fault and we have to do better, especially in the first half. We have the quality to do it, but we didn't, so we have to learn from that and be better next week."
Leicester's next outing is an Emirates FA Cup Semi-Final tie against Southampton next Sunday (6:30pm BST kick-off) and Ricardo says, whatever the competition, the motivation to get back to winning ways will be the same.
"We have to face every game with the same desire, with the same ambition," he added. "So, it's not that important which game it's going to be, or which competition."
