- LCFC Women beat Liverpool Women 1-0 to progress into the fifth round of the Vitality Women's FA Cup on Sunday
- The Foxes will travel to meet WSL side Manchester United Women in the next round on Sunday 16 May
- Manager Jonathan Morgan reacts to City's narrow win in Quorn - a sixth on the bounce in all competitions
- He believes the team can take their current form into the final two league games and build for their cup clash with United
Hannah Cain's second-half strike proved to be the difference between the two sides in what was a closely fought encounter against the Reds at Farley Way Stadium.
Morgan highlighted the entertaining nature of the contest and how Leicester's game plan helped steer them to victory in Quorn, extending the Foxes' winning run to six matches in all competitions and sealing a third success over Liverpool this term.
"I think it was a brilliant game," City's manager reflected when speaking to LCFC TV at full-time. "It was end-to-end, quite transitional at times. I think Liverpool played very well and it could have gone either way in terms of the way that the goal went in.
"I’m quite pleased with that. From our point of view, we worked heavily on the press for this week and obviously it's very clear to see that we want to be quite aggressive and we wanted to be very aggressive on our counter press.
"I think the fact that our goal came from the press, we're happy with that, and it’s obviously worked for us."
Morgan admitted the team had to show different qualities in order to come away with the victory, pleased to record a sixth successive clean sheet in the process, while also ending the Merseyside club's own six-game unbeaten streak.
He explained: "Obviously, if you play Liverpool, you know it's going to be a battle for 90 minutes and I think all three games have been won by one goal, so that says it all.
"Amber [Whiteley] has got them working very well. She's got them very organised and she's got them firing on all cylinders again.
"They’ve had a good run of form, so we knew we were up against it. But I think, again, we prepared for the game and our girls had the belief within themselves that they felt that we could keep our momentum going, and that's what happened."
The FA Women's Championship champions have two league fixtures remaining ahead of their fifth round cup tie with Manchester United on Sunday 16 May and Morgan is looking to build further momentum ahead of that exciting clash with the top flight side.
"We’re happy again with the victory, it's massive," he added. "Obviously, we want to go and beat Lewes and we want to go and beat Charlton, so we want that to finish on a high now.
"Then it's Man Utd in the FA Cup. We want to make sure we keep the momentum going for that game and hopefully we can cause an upset for next season.
"Just to play against one of the big teams in the country, we're happy for that. We just want to make sure we do ourselves proud and play to our strengths and play our game. We’ll just see what happens."
