The Foxes, who will commence the new season against Wolves at King Power Stadium in August, are one of only seven clubs to have ever lifted the famous trophy and, over recent seasons, finished in European berths for two years running under Brendan Rodgers' management.
Over the years, many records have been made and then broken by the Foxes. Ahead of the new season, let's take a closer look...
9 – The Club's biggest-ever victory
A 24-year-old record set by Manchester United in March 1995 was equalled by Leicester City in October 2019, thanks to a stunning 9-0 success at Southampton. No top-flight team has ever won by a bigger margin away from home in the entire 131-year history of the Football League.
It was also only the second time in the Premier League era that two players have scored a hat-trick in the same game, as Jamie Vardy and Ayoze Pérez did on the South Coast. However, it was actually the fourth double hat-trick in City’s history as the Foxes took their overall league goalscoring tally to 7,007.
118 – Leicester's all-time top Premier League goalscorer
By a significant margin, Jamie Vardy is the Club's greatest-ever Premier League striker. The 2019/20 Golden Boot winner has been a regular source of goals for the Foxes since their promotion from the Sky Bet Championship in 2014, netting 118 goals for Leicester in seven top-flight seasons.
Riyad Mahrez, now at Manchester City, netted 39 times for City, six more than Academy graduate and England international Emile Heskey, who starred in English football's top tier between 1996 and 2000. Muzzy Izzet (33) and Tony Cottee (27) also populate the top five.
195 – Total wins in the division
Leicester's 20 victories in 2020/21 was second only to the Club's 2015/16 title-winning season and added to their overall tally of 195 wins in the Premier League era. City have competed in 15 campaigns since the division's establishment 29 years ago.
That leaves the Foxes 14th in the overall wins charts, 12 less than Leeds United. Manchester United lead the way with a staggering 687 success to their name, while Arsenal and Chelsea (both 597) trail the 20-time champions. Liverpool, on the other hand, have secured three points on 581 occasions.
8 – Two thrilling draws... on the same date
The Club has twice played out breathless 4-4 draws in the Premier League. Both on the same date – 22 February – in 1995 and 2004. In the first, at Villa Park, Leicester were three goals down by the 60th minute, as Dean Saunders, Steve Staunton and Dwight Yorke netted for Aston Villa.
Mark Robins's strike came just before Tommy Johnson's fourth for Villa, but Iwan Roberts and then a brace from David Lowe rescued a point in the West Midlands. Nine years later, a Gary Doherty own goal was added to by Les Ferdinand, Ben Thatcher and Marcus Bent at White Hart Lane.
11 – Eleven heaven
One of the lasting memories of the 2015/16 season - and indeed of the Premier League's entire history - is the footage of Jamie Vardy wheeling away in delight after netting against Manchester United – his 13th goal in 11 consecutive matches, breaking a record previously held by Ruud van Nistelrooy.
During that streak, Vardy scored against AFC Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Stoke City, Arsenal, Norwich City, Southampton, Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion, Watford, Newcastle United and Man Utd. After witnessing history in the making, Martin Tyler roared live on Sky: "It's eleven, it's heaven!"
105 – Individual wins for Schmeichel
No player in Leicester's history has tasted victory in the Premier League more often than Kasper Schmeichel. The Club's iconic No.1, heading into his 11th season at King Power Stadium, has been involved in 105 top-flight wins over seven seasons at the English game's pinnacle.
The Denmark international goalkeeper is closely trailed by Jamie Vardy (103), while fellow title-winners Marc Albrighton (88) and Wes Morgan (72) complete the top four. Muzzy Izzet, who starred in five Premier League campaigns for City, is next on the list with 68 triumphs in Leicester's colours.
38 – Assists from Vardy
Not only is Jamie Vardy the Club's most prolific Premier League goalscorer, the former Fleetwood Town striker is also the most consistent source of assists for his team-mates. City's No.9 has so far set up his colleagues 38 times, four more than Steve Guppy supplied over two spells in Leicester.
Marc Albrighton (32), Riyad Mahrez (27) and Muzzy Izzet (26) also feature prominently in the assists stakes.
32,242 – King Power Stadium's biggest attendance
Although the Club were able to host 47,298 people for a clash with Tottenham Hotspur in 1928, in days before all-seater stadia, King Power Stadium's largest-ever crowd came in fitting circumstances in 2015 – the opening day of City's Premier League title-winning season.
Filbert Street's biggest Premier League crowd, meanwhile, saw 22,170 fans in attendance on 18 March, 2000 as David Beckham and Dwight Yorke secured a 2-0 success for Manchester United at the Club's home of 111 years.
8 – Victories in a row
Between 19 October and 8 December in 2019, under the management of Brendan Rodgers, the Foxes won eight Premier League matches in a row - a new Club record. It started with a 2-1 success over Burnley at King Power Stadium and ended with a 4-1 triumph at Aston Villa.
The run, which also included that 9-0 win at Southampton, also featured notable successes over Arsenal and Everton for the Foxes.
20 – Home games unbeaten in a row
Leicester lost just one home game all season in 2015/16 and that defeat, by Arsenal in September, would be their last reverse at King Power Stadium until the following November.
The Foxes enjoyed victories over Crystal Palace, Watford, Chelsea, Stoke City, Liverpool, Norwich City, Newcastle United, Southampton, Swansea City and Everton to conclude their greatest-ever season, while the run continued in 2016/17, including wins over Swansea, Burnley and Crystal Palace on Filbert Way.
