All You Need To Know About The 2021/22 Vitality Women’s FA Cup

LCFC Women are preparing to take part in two Vitality FA Women’s FA Cup competitions during next season, as well as their maiden Barclays FA Women’s Super League campaign.

Although the Foxes are still competing in the 2020/21 FA Cup, after beating Liverpool and then Manchester United in round four and five, the 2021/22 competition is also set to get underway before the end of the year.

Here are all the details on both competitions…

In which round do Leicester join?

Hannah Cain scored the only goal of the game to see off Liverpool in round four of the 2020/21 competition.

Leicester City will once again enter the 2021/22 competition at the fourth round stage, along with all other WSL and FA Women’s Championship clubs.

The Foxes reached the quarter-finals of the 2019/20 edition, before being knocked out by Manchester City.

When are all the games being played?

There will be 24 teams from the top two leagues, including Leicester, joining at the fourth round stage.

Where is the Final?

Manchester City and Everton contested the 2019/20 final behind closed doors at Wembley.

The final will be held at Wembley Stadium, with the men’s and women’s finals both being played on the same weekend for the first time. The Emirates FA Cup Final on Saturday 14 May, 2022 will precede the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Final on Sunday 15 May.

What about the 2020/21 FA Cup?

Charlie Devlin's goal wasn't quite enough for Leicester when they last met Manchester City in the FA Cup Quarter-Finals.

The 2020/21 Vitality Women’s FA Cup will continue at the start of next season for the quarter-final stage onwards. Leicester City have been drawn to face Manchester City away in the last eight, with the fixture scheduled to be played on Wednesday 29 September, 2021 at Man City's Academy Stadium. The kick-off time for the cup clash is yet to be confirmed.
