The LCFC Women defender could earn her 22nd international cap when the national side take on Hungary and Faroe Islands to begin their road to the 2023 tournament, which will take place in Australia and New Zealand.
New Scotland head coach Pedro Martinez Losa has named a 23-player squad for the fixtures, with Hungary up first at Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion in Budapest on Friday 17 September (7pm kick-off).
Scotland then host Faroe Islands at Hampden Park on Tuesday, 21 September, with a 7:35pm kick-off time in Glasgow, as part of a qualification group also containing Ukraine and Spain.
Howard, 27, came on as a second-half substitute during the Foxes’ Barclays FA Women’s Super League opener against Aston Villa at the weekend and is in line to play a part in Sunday’s fixture at home to Manchester United before linking up with her national side.
