The Foxes welcome Graham Potter's men to King Power Stadium in the fourth round for a 7:45pm BST kick-off after emerging past Millwall in the last stage – a match which saw Ward keep a clean sheet for the visitors in south London.
Speaking inside Wednesday's edition of the Club's programme, which includes all the usual features, the Wales international outlined why City must be at the very top of their game to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
"They’ve been very impressive," Ward said of Brighton. "Their performances have been good, as they were for most of last season. They have a good spine in the team and Graham Potter has implemented a clear playing style down there.
"They’ve found their scoring touch, so many of the games that ended in draws or narrow losses last season are now becoming wins."
Reflecting on Leicester's third-round triumph over Millwall last month, the 28-year-old highlighted how his team-mates adapted to a hostile atmosphere.
"Millwall is always a really tough place to go," he added. "The performance was quite similar to the game against Brentford actually, in terms of sticking together and showing the grit and determination needed to get the win. The boys dealt with the atmosphere and in the end, our quality shone through.
"Coming away from that game with a clean sheet and a couple of goals was exactly what we set out to do."
The Foxes are currently on a three-game winning run in all competitions and Ward says the squad is determined to do all they can to keep that going.
"It’s a really good feeling at the moment," the former Liverpool 'keeper continued. "The performances and results in the last three games is something we’ve been striving for since the start of the season.
"We know we weren’t at our level earlier in the season, but hopefully after that really good week, we can carry on in the right direction."
