The Foxes welcome Jürgen Klopp's Reds to Filbert Way two days after the visit to Manchester City in the Club's final home game of 2021. Tielemans, who scored the winner for Leicester in the final of the Emirates FA Cup last term, used his chat with CITY Matchday Magazine to reflect on the year.
"Highs and lows," City's No.8 told the Club's official programme. "That's life as a professional footballer, it is completely normal. We've had a really good success with Leicester, by winning the FA Cup.
"Unfortunately, a week later, we dropped out of the Champions League spots, so that was frustrating as well; to be there the whole season and then to miss out on that spot in the last two games.
"At the Euros, we had some good times, some good games and then, unfortunately, a reality check, where we missed out on the semi-finals. That was a low from us as a team, as well as personally. However, I came back to Leicester and we won another trophy by winning the Community Shield.
"That was, again, another high for myself and the Club. Then we started the season which has been, again, highs and lows.
"We've had some really good results, some really good performances and some bad ones, which is normal in a season, but you want to get that consistency into your performances and results. Hopefully, we'll find that in the next couple of weeks."
On the specific challenge which Liverpool are likely to pose this week, Tielemans naturally expects a tough test of Leicester's credentials, with the Merseyside outfit looking to add another Premier League title to their collection at the end of the season.
"It’s very hard," he added. "We will have to run a lot, because they are all about intensity, pressing and counter pressing. It's very hard to play against them. You have to find the spaces and be mentally tough. We know that, against teams like Liverpool, you're not going to get many chances in the game.
"If we do get one, you have to be efficient and hopefully we will keep a cool head to finish our chances and make the best out of this game."
