Ademola Lookman was thrilled to play his part in an 'all-round' Leicester City performance during Tuesday's 1-0 victory over Liverpool.

- Leicester City beat Liverpool 1-0 at King Power Stadium on Tuesday
- Winger Ademola Lookman scored the winning goal during a battling Foxes performance
- The 24-year-old was delighted to contribute again after netting his second goal in as many games
- City will continue their efforts to improve results into the New Year, he adds

The on-loan winger netted the only goal of the game at King Power Stadium as the Foxes battled hard to become the first Premier League team to keep a clean sheet against the Reds this season - helped enormously by Kasper Schmeichel's earlier penalty save to deny Mo Salah.

It means City end the calendar year on a huge high after contending with a series of issues through December, including positive COVID-19 cases in the squad, fixture postponements and growing injury concerns. They also played Liverpool twice, either side of Manchester City away, in just eight days.

After coming out the other side of that spell with a morale-boosting victory, Lookman told LCFC TV: "It was an all-round display – defensive and attacking. We’re just glad with the three points.

"We played Man City two days ago, another world-class team, and we unfortunately didn’t get the win there, but we got it today against Liverpool, so we’re delighted. We always look forward. Every game in the Premier League is always tough.

"Everybody knows that, but we look to grow stronger and be better every single game."

Lookman also netted for Leicester at Man City on Boxing Day and he believes his effort against Liverpool enabled the Foxes to show their qualities in a fraught encounter with Jürgen Klopp's men.

"I think I’ve scored better personally but it’s another goal up there for me," he continued. "Especially, in the moment of the game, for us to get that moment and capitalise on it, it was vital. From there, we grew stronger as a team and showed a lot of our defensive quality.

"That’s what’s needed. Liverpool are a world-class team, with top players, and we showed a lot today. We can be glad."
