The FA Cup holders welcome the Hornets to King Power Stadium on Saturday in City's first outing of the New Year. Back on home soil, where Leicester overcame Jürgen Klopp's Reds with a resilient performance, Pérez is hopeful that he and his team-mates can build on that success.
"It felt really good to get that result, especially after the defeat we had there in the Carabao Cup and the defeat at Manchester City just a few days before," the Spaniard told CITY Matchday Magazine, which returns to the shelves before Saturday's 3pm kick-off on Filbert Way.
"It was a great response from the team and a massive win for us. We finished the year in the best way possible, so hopefully that can be a boost for us going into 2022."
The Foxes were roared on by a vociferous King Power Stadium crowd against Liverpool – nudging Leicester over the line towards a huge three points in the league. Now Pérez hopes City can make the venue a fortress in 2022 as they strive to make it five wins in a row on Filbert Way.
"I always say when I’m asked this question, the support from our fans is so important," he explained. "They are brilliant and I hope they know that their support is a massive help for us. In the New Year, we need to make sure our stadium is a fortress; a place where opposition teams don’t look forward to visiting.
"If we can do that then I’m sure we’ll pick up more points and climb higher in the table."
