Filbert Fox will meet over 5,000 young people at schools and grassroots clubs across Leicestershire this week – with the Emirates FA Cup and FA Community Shield trophies!

- Filbert Fox has taken the FA Cup and FA Community Shield trophies across Leicestershire
- Leicester City defeated Chelsea and Manchester City respectively to win the two competitions
- Schools throughout the country have been visited by the Club's official mascot this week
- The Club hopes events such as these can inspire and engage the next generation in Leicester

Leicester City lifted the iconic FA Cup last May after overcoming Chelsea in the final at Wembley, courtesy of Youri Tielemans' historic second-half stunner. The Foxes defeated Stoke City, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Manchester United and Southampton on their way to the showpiece.

Three months later, meanwhile, a penalty from Kelechi Iheanacho against Manchester City sealed the Community Shield at the national stadium. It was the second time a Leicester side had lifted the shield after also claiming the prize by beating Liverpool back in 1971.

One of the stops for Filbert Fox was to Forest Lodge Primary School in New Parks.

The Foxes' defence of the FA Cup will continue this weekend at East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest on Sunday (4pm GMT kick-off) and, as cup fever starts to kick in once again, Filbert has been on hand to take the trophies on tour as part of the Club's commitment to engage and inspire its community.

This tour is the latest initiative designed to strengthen bonds between the Club and its community through offering unique opportunities to the next generation. As well as celebrating Leicester City's achievements, pupils were also taught about the FA Cup's history, which now spans 150 years.

It comes after thousands of City fans were able to visit King Power Stadium for photos with the latest additions to the Club's trophy cabinet last summer, but this time, Filbert is taking them directly to young Foxes supporters across the region – dropping by school assemblies throughout the week!
