Leicester City’s Under-18s came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw at Birmingham City on Tuesday afternoon.

Six changes were made from the Leicester XI narrowly defeated by Manchester United in the FA Youth Cup last Thursday and it was the home side who started the better at Trillion Trophy Training Centre.

The Blues took the lead courtesy of George Hall’s goal just ahead of the half-hour mark and it was an advantage they held at the break.

The visitors’ long unbeaten league streak was under threat, but less than two minutes after making a tactical switch, throwing on midfielder Jack Lewis for defender Ben Grist, they managed to extend it courtesy of Brandon Cover’s 67th-minute equaliser.

Neither side could find a winning goal, though the hosts were reduced to 10 men late on when Tommy Fogarty was shown a second yellow card.

That’s now 11 U18 Premier League South games without defeat for the side coached by Adam Barradell, who sit fourth in the table, four points behind leaders Southampton with a game in hand.

The Foxes head to Crystal Palace on Saturday in a 12pm kick-off before travelling to Aston Villa on Tuesday 8 March (11am kick-off).
