Adam Barradell is confident that Leicester City’s Under-18s will return to winning ways sooner rather than later following four games without victory in all competitions.

- Leicester City’s Under-18s entertain Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon
- The pair face off in a U18 Premier League South fixture at LCFC Training Ground
- City drew 1-1 with Aston Villa last time out while the Seagulls lost to Fulham
- Coach Adam Barradell hopes to see the same level of performance in Seagrave

Standards have been set very high this term, with progression into the latter stages of two cup competitions alongside a league run which saw City go unbeaten from September through to early March.

The latest test in U18 Premier League South sees fifth-placed Leicester welcome eighth-placed Brighton & Hove Albion to LCFC Training Ground this Saturday afternoon (12pm GMT kick-off).

The Foxes youngsters go into the game off the back of a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Tuesday, which ended in disappointment when Dewain Sewell struck late on to cancel out Jack Butterfill’s opener.

“It was another positive performance really,” Barradell told LCFC.com, analysing the 90 minutes at Bodymoor Heath Training Ground. “I know the result wasn’t there, but the boys played well, we controlled the game for a lot of time. It was disappointing to concede at the end.

It’s great to come back to Seagrave. We’ll be looking ahead towards that game and also the one on Wednesday. Both will be good games for us to test ourselves.

“We spoke about that after and again, we’ve just got to finish off chances, we’ve got to manage the game a little bit better in those final moments. Looking back over the last month of games, we’ve had a lot of pleasing performances, so that’s a real positive.”

The Seagulls, also inconsistent of late, winning two and losing three of their last five, are up next for the young Foxes, offering an opportunity to get back on track in the league and recapture the form and consistency present for most of the season.

Following three away games in seven days, it’s a welcome return to home soil, with another home fixture on the horizon in the semi-finals of the U18 Premier League Cup next Wednesday (7pm kick-off), against Fulham, who defeated the south coast outfit last time out.

“We’ll be looking to do well in the Brighton game,” City’s coach added. “It’s great to be playing at home as the last few games have been away. Once again, it’s great to come back to Seagrave. We’ll be looking ahead towards that game and also the one on Wednesday. Both will be good games for us to test ourselves.”
