- LCFC Women sign young goalkeeper on non-contract basis
- Seventeen-year-old Safia Middleton-Patel joins the matchday squad to face Everton
- The move is due to the unavailability of several first team goalkeepers
The move was approved by the FA following confirmation that several first-team goalkeepers would be unavailable for the fixture, with the 17-year-old now part of Lydia Bedford’s squad for one matchday before she returns to Manchester United.
Middleton-Patel, who has represented Wales at Under-17 and Under-19 levels, was named in the Red Devils' first team squad for their WSL fixture against Arsenal last month, before helping Manchester United's Under-21s side to win the FA WSL League Cup, beating Birmingham City 4-1 in the final earlier this week.
