- Eleven members of Leicester City’s Academy agree contracts with the Foxes
- Will Alves, Ben Grist and Oliver Ewing are among those to have signed deals
- Harvey Barnes, Hamza Choudhury, Luke Thomas and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have all progressed from the Academy to become First Team regulars in recent seasons
From the Development Squad, Bayli Spencer-Adams, Chituru Odunze, Ollver Ewing and Terell Pennant have all extended their contracts, while eight youngsters from the Under-18s have committed to continuing their progress with the Club by agreeing professional terms with the Foxes.
These include Will Alves, Brandon Cover, Arlo Doherty, Harvey Godsmark-Ford, Jack Lewis, Ben Grist and Joe Wormleighton – all of whom are signing as professionals for the first time.
The Club’s renowned Academy – which was again awarded Category One status by the Premier League earlier this year – have a proud history of developing players for the First Team, with Harvey Barnes, Hamza Choudhury, Luke Thomas and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall all progressing through the pathway in recent seasons.
Seventeen-year-old Alves, who has impressed for Leicester City’s Under-18s, has already followed in the footsteps of those former graduates having made his First Team debut as a 16-year-old in January this year – coming off the bench in a 4-1 FA Cup win over Watford at King Power Stadium.
Joining him in signing professional contracts with City are 18-year-old goalkeeper Doherty, defenders Cover, Godsmark-Ford and Wormleighton, all 18 and Grist, 17, as well as 17-year-old midfielder Lewis - who have all been instrumental in the progress of the Under-18s.
In the Development Squad, 19-year-old Wales U19 midfielder Ewing has agreed new terms, along with defender Spencer-Adams, who joined the Club in October 2021.
Also in the Development Squad, there are extensions for goalkeeper Odunze and forward Pennant, both 19. Odunze signed from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019, while attacking talent Pennant has continued to showcase his eye for goal over recent campaigns having come through the ranks with the Foxes.
All players will now continue their development through the Club’s pathway as they strive to join the First Team ranks in the future.
