- Leicester City's Papy Mendy featured for Senegal in a 3-0 loss to England
- The Three Lions are now into the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup
- James Maddison is the last remaining Foxes player at Qatar 2022
- One-time world champions England take on holders France in the last-eight
The Leicester City midfielder, who has featured in all four games for the Lions of Teranga, played from start to finish at Al Bayt Stadium. James Maddison, a scorer of seven goals for the Foxes in 2022/23, was an unused sub again for the Three Lions and is yet to appear at the tournament.
Jordan Henderson opened the scoring from close range for England in the 38th minute, before Harry Kane doubled their advantage on the counter with the last action of the first half. In the second half, Bukayo Saka's tidy finish made it three, depriving Senegal of a first last-eight appearance since 2002.
That means Gareth Southgate's men will come up against world champions France in the quarter-finals next Saturday (7pm GMT kick-off). Les Bleus beat Poland 3-1 earlier on Sunday afternoon, with Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappé (2) on the scoresheet.
Seven players from the Club headed to the Middle East to represent their nations earlier this winter, but just one now remains. Don't forget to use LCFC.com/WorldCup for everything Foxes related from Qatar 2022, as Maddison and England go in search of glory.
