The Foxes welcome Brighton & Hove to King Power Stadium in the Barclays Women's Super League on Sunday (3pm kick-off) hoping to secure their first top-flight win of the season.

Buoyed by Wednesday's 5-0 rout of Sunderland in the Continental Tyres League Cup, Kirk was speaking to the media from the Club's Belvoir Drive hub on Friday. There was bad news to report on McManus, however, who is due for a spell out.

"Abbie is obviously out," the manager confirmed on Friday. "She’s had a bad injury on Wednesday night and it’ll be a while before we see her back. That’s disappointing. She’s an important player for us. She’s got experience.

It’s a leg break that’ll keep her out for a minimum of three months.

"She can play in different positions. I had her playing in a six rather than at centre-back because I thought she had a lot of composure. Abbie will definitely miss out. That’s probably the only new one.

"It’s disappointing for Abbie and for us but football sometimes throws these things at you. She’s got an appointment today but she’s fractured her leg. It’s a leg break that’ll keep her out for a minimum of three months and maybe for the rest of the season."
