- 'I’m preparing to take every game as it comes,' says Robinson
The Foxes kept their 100 per cent record in 2023 alive on Sunday afternoon when they beat Brighton & Hove Albion at King Power Stadium. After goals from Aileen Whelan and Sam Tierney, Robinson etched herself on the scoresheet for the first time in her senior career.
Following the full-time whistle, the youngster spoke with LCFC TV to explain the importance of keeping this winning momentum as Leicester prepare to face Man City in the League Cup at Pirelli Stadium on Wednesday (7pm kick-off).
“I think it's a tough test,” Robinson explained. “But we've done well beating Sunderland, so that the Man City game means something. If we win, we're going through to the quarter-finals. We've set ourselves up so it's not meaningless.
“It brings confidence to everyone else. We’ve had a good start to the year. It just sets us up for the rest of the campaign if we can get through Wednesday night with a positive result.”
Scoring from the bench during Leicester’s win against Brighton was a moment to remember for Robinson, who is ready to work hard for the team, as they prepare for their final Group B match.
“I'm over the moon!” she continued. “To be honest I'm still not over it. I don't really remember the goal; I just saw it in the back of the net! It came to me, and I just thought hit it, and thankfully it went in.
“There's always opportunities to come on, of course with injuries as well, and you've just got to take those chances when they come and to take every game individually, especially at my age.”
