Victor Kristiansen has pledged to bring passion and power to Leicester City after agreeing a five-and-a-half-year deal at King Power Stadium.

The Denmark youth international, a Superliga winner, wants to play an active role in helping the Foxes climb the Premier League standings. The 20-year-old is also already looking forward to meeting City's fans as soon as possible as he begins a new chapter in his career.

“I am so excited,” Kristiansen told LCFC TV inside the first team dressing room at LCFC Training Ground in Seagrave. “I just can’t wait. It will be amazing and I’m sure we’ll get back on track together. I’ve been waiting for this opportunity, it’s really exciting to be here and to meet everyone around the Club and the fans especially.

“These are the best facilities to be a top professional footballer and to keep my development going and to win some football games. I’ve heard a lot of good stories about the group and about the Club. It’s an amazing squad. I’m ready to meet all of the guys and say hello to them.”

It was a no-brainer for me to say yes to this great opportunity. I couldn’t wait anymore.

Both the lure of playing in the Premier League and doing so with a club of Leicester City’s stature were factors in Kristiansen’s decision to leave Copenhagen – a club he has called home since he was four years old. City’s new No.16 is ready for a new adventure in the East Midlands for a side he knows well due to its historic Danish links.

“It’s probably the best league in the world and [to join] a top team like Leicester, of course I was excited,” he explained. “It was a no-brainer for me to say yes to this great opportunity. I couldn’t wait anymore.

“It's bittersweet to leave Copenhagen. That’s been my home since I was four. I have everybody to thank at Copenhagen, but I couldn’t wait to take this opportunity and join Leicester City. It’s the biggest league in the world. I’ve seen Leicester play in Parken before, in 2016, in the Champions League.

“I remember it was a tactical game, a big game for Copenhagen, and I remember Leicester being stable and powerful so it was interesting to see. I’ve heard about them winning the Premier League and I obviously know that Kasper [Schmeichel] was here a few years ago – a great Dane.”

Kristiansen has promised the Blue Army that, whatever may happen, he will always be willing to give his all for the cause.

They’ll see a motivated player on the pitch every time, showing the passion for the Club and for the fans.

“They can expect to see a powerful full-back,” he said. “I am strong in the defence. I like to support the winger with a lot of runs. They’ll see a motivated player on the pitch every time, showing the passion for the Club and for the fans.

“I think, the full-back position, back in the day, was the most boring position, but nowadays we see a lot of full-backs have a really big role in the team. I like to do my job and see how it benefits the team.

“I spoke to Brendan [Rodgers] about what to expect here and he just said I still need to be the Victor who plays for Copenhagen – to continue that progress and keep developing. Brendan seems to be a really nice manager and guy, so I am looking forward to working with him.”
