- Patson Daka scores twice for Zambia to beat Lesotho in AFCON qualification
- James Maddison makes his full England debut against Ukraine at Wembley
- The Three Lions won 2-0 to continue their good start to EURO qualifying
Foxes forward Daka scored both goals to help steer his nation to a 2-0 success over Lesotho in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying, lifting Avram Grant's side back into top spot in Group H, two points ahead of Ivory Coast, though Chipolopolo have played a game more.
Dobsonville Stadium in South Africa hosted the second meeting between the sides in three days, following Zambia's 3-1 triumph on Thursday.
This time around it was Daka who took centre stage, opening the scoring a quarter of an hour into the contest, adding his second with just over 20 minutes remaining, before being replaced by Kennedy Mudenda late on.
Maddison, meanwhile, made his full senior international debut in England's fixture with Ukraine at Wembley, three-and-a-half years after the midfielder's first Three Lions appearance, as a substitute during a qualifier against Montenegro in November 2019.
On Sunday, Gareth Southgate's men emerged 2-0 victors in their second UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier, following up a narrow win in Italy to sit top of Group C with a 100 per cent record.
Harry Kane, now England's all-time record goalscorer, netted for the 10th consecutive European qualifier, turning home Bukayo Saka's cross. It quickly became 2-0 as Saka's sublime effort handed the hosts a healthy lead heading into half-time.
And that's how it stayed, with City's No.10 playing 85 minutes in the capital before being replaced by Manchester City's Jack Grealish for the closing stages.
Head back to LCFC.com on Monday evening for a comprehensive round-up of all the international action involving Foxes players, with Daniel Amartey, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho among those set to compete.
