- Leeds United are Leicester City’s next Premier League opponents
- Elland Road hosts Tuesday night’s 8pm kick-off
- Timothy Castagne previewed another crucial fixture for the Foxes
- City moved outside the bottom three following the win over Wolves
- The victory has improved the whole mood around the Club, he believes
The match-winner helped to complete a fine King Power Stadium turnaround for the Foxes, who were a goal down courtesy of Matheus Cunha’s finish, but, thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho’s penalty and Castagne’s late strike, put three points on the board for the first time under new Manager Dean Smith.
The enormity of that victory was not lost on the Belgian, who described his emotions to LCFC TV following his second goal of the season and first since the opening day of the Premier League season.
“It's a big goal for me and for us to get three points back here,” the defender reflected. “I also think we saw a bit of the real Leicester back today. The first half was tough, but in the second half we played better.
“It was a very nice goal. The combination before was very good. Normally on that one, I should stay behind and only Victor [Kristiansen] can go, but I saw that Bouba [Soumaré] was there to cover, so I said I'm going to go and it's the right ball at the right time, so it's great.
“It’s very big. Before the game, we had lots of doubts, and it's a very different atmosphere now after the game, so it's a big boost. Just because we won today, we are not out of it.”
Now above the bottom three, the full-back knows that City must continue in the same vein against another side who are involved in the relegation battle, positioned one point ahead of Leicester in the table. Elland Road is the venue for the 8pm kick-off against Leeds.
“We need to do the same on Tuesday,” the 27-year-old added. “We had some good plays and I think the second half against Man City was also very good. So far, it's been good, and I hope it will continue like that.
“We know if we win, we go in front of them as well, so that’s good too. The whole season the message was that we are too good to be there. And now it's more like we're trying to hunt the teams above us and it's a different mentality and maybe it's going to be better for us.
“I think it's different times, different players and they've had another manager. We did the same, so we just have to watch what they did in the last few games, what we can do to hurt them.”
