A five-day celebration from 21-26 July, LCFC Live will bring the Leicester City experience directly to fans in the Thai capital, delivering a diverse programme of events and locally sourced content to complement a showpiece matchday in the city.
City take on Tottenham Hotspur at Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium on Sunday 23 July (5pm local) with tickets now on sale HERE. But the game against Spurs is only one part of the action, with a series of fan-led activations set to bring Thai supporters into the Leicester City experience like never before.
At the heart of the trip, City’s new manager Enzo Maresca will be diligently preparing his new-look Foxes squad for the start of the 2023/24 season, with training sessions and the game against Spurs forming a crucial part of the build-up to the new campaign, which gets underway at home to Coventry City on Sunday 7 August.
Fans in Bangkok will get a rare insight into some of those preparations at an open training session at the Rajamangala Stadium on Saturday 22 July, where they will get to see the Foxes put through their paces before the game against Spurs on Sunday 23 July.
Leicester’s return to the Land of Smiles will begin on Friday 21 July, kicking off five days of activity involving the Club’s current stars and legends of previous eras.
Premier League winning captain Wes Morgan will be joined by League Cup winners Emile Heskey, Gerry Taggart and Matt Elliott for a week of activations, including exclusive supporter engagement events, youth coaching clinics, open training sessions and participation in matchday fanzones at the Rajamangala.
Bangkok’s iconic Mahanakhon building will host the official launch of LCFC Live on Saturday 22 July. It will be a day that will also see Wes Morgan participate in King Power’s Thai Power project – an initiative aiming to distribute one million footballs to inspire young people in Thailand.
Mahanakhon will also host an exclusive Supporter Q&A at The Standard Hotel’s Parlor Bar & Restaurant on Monday 24 July (tickets now sold out), plus a very special Foxes Journey exhibition from Sunday 23 to Thursday 27 July, showcasing some unforgettable elements of the LCFC experience for fans of all ages in in the building’s popular 74th Floor.
Supporters will also be able to unlock a host of exclusive LCFC Live benefits and prizes by taking part in our Find Filbert treasure hunt, with the much-loved Foxes mascot set to appear in some of Bangkok’s most popular locations. By scanning location QR codes throughout the week (including one on Filbert himself!), fans will earn points to redeem special Find Filbert rewards.
Leicester City legend Wes Morgan said: “The Club will be really proud to once again make Thailand and its amazing people part of our preparations for such a big season. We’ve always received such an incredible welcome during previous visits and I’m sure this summer will be no different.
“Preparations for the new season will obviously be a big priority for Enzo, his staff and the players, but it’s also an opportunity for the Club to re-engage with fans in Thailand, who have and continue to show so much passion for the Club. We want to say thank you for that support, to use it to introduce more fans to the Leicester City experience and strengthen the bond between Leicester and Thailand.”
City’s fanbase in Thailand has continued to grow since the Club was acquired in 2010 by King Power International, owned and operated by Srivaddhanaprabha family. This summer’s visit will provide the Club will a fantastic opportunity to engage with those supporters who have followed Leicester City’s remarkable journey during that time – including an estimated one million people who attended the Premier League trophy parade through the streets of Bangkok in 2016.
The Club also collaborated with King Power and Tourism Authority of Thailand during the 2020/21 season to support the recovery of the country’s tourism industry in the wake of Covid-19 through its Thailand Smiles With You campaign.
